Bringing copper to life with children

In groups of about 15 children (of all ages and abilities) I have worked with hundreds of young people. Gloves, a simple ball pein hammer and an old recycled copper heater are all we need to create functional finished bowls.

The standard of the children’s work is consistently high. The magical process from flat dark copper to shiny real object (one that will really last) is a valuable and enjoyable experience.

Depending on the situation (ages, available time etc) we can work more complex shapes such as leaves, flowers and hands. This provides options for creating a larger group piece.

Given the opportunity many children really are good with their hands. Contact me if you would like more information. All preparation involving heat and cutting is done by me beforehand.
